A sensory experience of exploring models and tactile panels
On the occasion of Futura Expo 2025 and for the entire duration of the event, from March 7 to 9, 2025, CITISLAB in collaboration with the friends of UICI-Unione Italiana Ciechi Ipovedenti sede di Brescia offered visitors to the University of Brescia booth a unique sensory exploration experience.
Blindfolded, participants were guided in the tactile reading of three-dimensional models of architecture and landscapes, made in the Laboratory of Architectural Surveying coordinated by Ivana Passamani (undergraduate course in Building Engineering-Architecture).
The path of exploration concluded with the discovery of a tactile panel that is part of the project “The Castle for All. Tactile gazes from the Cidneo,” offered to the city by the Friends of the Cidneo Committee and the Lions Club Brescia Leonessa Dieci Giornate and carried out with the scientific advice and coordination of our member Ivana Passamani.
The more than 300 accesses to the blind trail demonstrated the interest generated by the proposal and the need to get involved by listening to one’s body and interpreting reality through the senses.
Particularly significant were the many comments left after the visit, which populated the “post it wall.”
