Representation methodologies for museum and artwork accessibility,&#8221;<\/strong> signed between the <strong>Diocesan Museum of Brescia Foundation<\/strong> and the <strong>DICATAM Department of<\/strong> the University of Brescia, under the scientific responsibility of <strong>Ivana Passamani<\/strong>.<br>The project was born with a specific goal: <strong>to make the artistic and architectural heritage of the Museum more accessible, understandable and inclusive<\/strong>, through tactile and visuo-tactile representation methodologies.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<style>\n#text-863653643 {\n  color: rgb(38, 33, 79);\n}\n#text-863653643 > * {\n  color: rgb(38, 33, 79);\n}\n<\/style>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t<div id=\"text-1561174480\" class=\"text dim-testo\">\n\t\t\n\n<h3><strong>Preliminary study of the monument complex<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The first phase of the work focused on the architectural analysis of the <strong>monumental complex that houses the Diocesan Museum<\/strong>.<br>This study made it possible to produce comprehensive documentation from the point of view:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>formal<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li><strong>distribution<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li><strong>space<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From this analysis, the following were realized:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Two tactile<\/strong> maps with floor plans of levels +1 and -1;<\/li>\n<li>a dedicated <strong>touch table<\/strong> on the ground floor, which integrates a <strong>3D model<\/strong> of the building, much appreciated by visitors;<\/li>\n<li>a <strong>visual-tactile skyline panel<\/strong>, useful for contextualizing the museum in the dense urban fabric of Brescia&#8217;s historic center.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These tools enable everyone-including people with visual impairments-to navigate the museum&#8217;s spaces and understand its structure.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<style>\n#text-1561174480 {\n  color: rgb(38, 33, 79);\n}\n#text-1561174480 > * {\n  color: rgb(38, 33, 79);\n}\n<\/style>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t<div id=\"text-1196567371\" class=\"text dim-testo\">\n\t\t\n\n<h3><strong>Thirteen works told through visuo-tactile storytelling<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A central part of the project was devoted to the <strong>artistic content of<\/strong> the museum. This space in the Diocesan Museum presents a particular complexity in terms of both space and content, as it houses an installation by <g id=\"gid_1\">Franca Ghitti<\/g> conceived in close relation to the architecture of the room. The artistic intervention, of a <g id=\"gid_2\">site-specific<\/g> nature, is composed of three works: <g id=\"gid_3\">The Last Supper<\/g> and two works belonging to the series <g id=\"gid_4\">Other Alphabets<\/g>.<br>The tactile map is designed to restore the structure of the hall and the relationship between the works and the space that hosts them, offering a clear reading of the spatial relationships, paths and positions of the installations. Through a calibrated visual-tactile representation, the panel enables visitors-including people with visual impairments-to understand not only the physical arrangement of the works, but also their dialogue with each other and their deep connection with the place.
